Do you think Jesus and Christianity is taken seriously?

Not long ago, there was a riot that caused actual deaths, because a European cartoonist drew a picture of Islam's Muhammad riding a nuclear bomb. People in general, tend not to make fun of Allah or Muhammad.

However, on a regular basis, Christians and Jesus are mocked. Whether it's the "hippie" Jesus on South Park or the "pimp" Jesus on MadTV, it seems there is no problem with people mocking Jesus or the people who follow him.

Why do you think that is?

No, I don't think we are taken serious at all when you look at society today. I think that the world views us as just another cult. probably the weakest because alot of us are passive and dont share our faith or don't continue to grow in Christ Jesus. We lack zeal, boldness, confidence & fervor. But we serve the only REAL LIVE BREATHING GOD, like GOD for real! but alot of us can't see him for who he is in the spirit and that is LOVE! We want to add more to him. Science, Philosophy, etc. But everything about God is in the perimeter of LOVE! For the bible says God is LOVE!

The bible says that the Gospel is like foolishness to the unsaved. They need to realize that they need to be saved. It is as if I was on a street corner yelling I have the cure for aids. Someone comes by and says that's great, but I don't have aids. You keep telling them that they they do and you show the symptoms, they are like you are crazy. Until they realize that they have aids they will never accepts the cure.
Yes Christians are the main problem with that because they say they have the cure for aids but they still have the symptoms of aids so the person will say well why should I take that when you are the same as me.
I pray that all Christians stand strong in the teaching of God that people will see the difference in us and then we can share the hope that we have in Christ. We must remember that we are always giving a testimony whether we are glorifying God or glorifying satan.

..nah not at all. Churches from EVERY denomination are chock full of people that haven't got a clue and the world is just sittin back laughin. We need to come together and have some serious fellowship around His Word..on tha real.

We're not taken seriously. That's because Jesus said it would be so. People hated and persecuted Him, and He was perfect! Imagine what they think of us! It doesn't matter though, I'm thinking about Noah and how he preached the gospel for like 420 years, and people thought he was crazy. But the other half of that equation is that Noah survived. The haters didn't. Plain and simple. Let's glorify God and edify the Saints, and evangelize the lost who's with me?!? Sounds like the hook for a good song, or at least an intro!
