Alot of negative history comes behind the 'N' word of yesterday. It was used to slander and demean an entire race of people for generations. (Even still in alot of places today.)
However, today, it is used as a common term between friends, and is also casually used outside of the African-American community, as well.
Do you think it's okay for Christians to say the "N" word?
Do you think it's racist for white people not to be able to say it in it's current meaning?
Do you think it's sinful?
..I hear what yer tryin to say man but I think it's mad ignorant. I'm a white dude, I'm good with that..but I'm not white I'm more, peach..lol. A lot of dudes are black..are they black? Nah their dark brown..Chinese dudes are yellow and so on..who cares we're all people that bleed red.
To many of us are actually perpetuating the problem of bigotry by comin up with these stupid little names..tearin open scabs that've been healed in many respects.
I guess it does depend on the context. I'm from NY and I live in the Nashville area now, I get called a Yankee all the time, I don't really get offended unless somebody means ill towards me..but we're to take no offense as Christians anyways
Praise Him.
Hello,
I may be stepping in this convo a little late, but there is a common-ground I must mention about this matter. Now to answer you questions...
Do I think it's ok for Christians to say the "N" word? I believe that it shall not be used in the midst of delivering the word of God. The term (Nigga) itself isn't bad, it is the way its been used is what makes it bad. I feel as long as a person uses it in a more mature, appropriate way, then it shall not effect anyone, for we shall commonly know what the term differs. Do I think it's racist for white people not to be able to say it in it's current meaning? Personally, no. The wild and explicit rapper himself, Eminem, could answer this question. It never really matter how bad he may feel or how he expresses an issue, he is senses enough to know not to say the "N" word neither in his songs, nor interviews. It may seem okay to others, but out of self-respect he prefer not. Is the "N" word sinful? The word "Nigger" is a sin, for its meaning is to be ignorant. But for us to speak up on the term "Nigga", I believe it is not. This falls back to the way it is being used and how often it is said. To say the word without any self-control can become a sin, which might lead you to many closed doors in the near future.
Overall; the word has its history-meaning and who says history can't be changed?
No doubt my man bigotry n ignorance come in all shapes and sizes.
As pertaining to eminem though he's just bein "politically correct" like the rest of em. He's def not a critical thinker
Simple, NO. Why? Because that word was used to degrade other individuals and used to try to show forced power over someone. We as Christians know that Jesus was a humble individual, even with all of his heavenly powers. Therefore, I totally 100% believe that us as a Christian body should not use the N word.
NEGRO MEANS BLACK SO THERE FORE R U BLACK OR WHITE? THATS WHY BLACKS CAN SAY THIS WORD TO EACH OTHER AND ITS COOL,BUT KNOWING OUR HISTORY FOR WHITES TO SAY IT AND THERE NOT BLACK IT =WHITES DONT UNDERSTAND HOW WE USE THE 'N' WORD,AND EVEN SOME BLACKS USE IT WRONG. OVERALL ITS SINFUL AND CURSED BECAUSE SATAN WANTS THE WORLD TO STAY IGNORANT. GOD MADE US KINGS& QUEENS, BROTHAS & SISTERS, A CHRISTIAN IS A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST SO READ UR BIBLE AND C DAT JESUS HAD BROTHERS & SISTERS SO DO IT FOR JESUS LETS B FAMILY INSTEAD OF NIGGAS! KEEP THE PEACE!...SIR N.A.S.T.Y. NAZ
