About Me:

Born in Peoria Illinois, Roderick Lee Armstrong began his pursuit of music poetry when he was 14 years old. Bro. Roderick was a very outspoken child, full of creativity and vigor, and needed a way to express his feelings toward the difficult situations he faced as a young boy. Bro. Roderick, his mother, two sisters and younger brother lost their home to a fire when he was just twelve years of age. Enduring the hardships of finding a new home, and being supportive of his other siblings, Bro. Roderick found a way to express his soul to a world that had been through the same troubles. He was led into spoken word poetry through hip hop music. Working with record labels and various artists from the age of seventeen to the age of twenty five, he gained the knowledge and the know-how to branch off on his own endeavors. In 2008, Contender for the Faith Church in St. Paul was the first place where many heard the poetry that he had composed. He began advertising his new music ministry (Confessions, Words of Encouragement) through the internet; He was then contacted by Big Time Entertainment (BTE) via the internet about performing at the Dinky Towner Café.. located in Minneapolis where various artists performed music or other artistic talents. On June 29th, he performed his first paid headlining show at the Dinky Towner Café... Doing poems such as “We Ain’t Goin” and “Pride vs. God” BTE asked him to return with more poetry and music. He then proceeded to advertise the ministry he began in the summer on the internet. As more new songs emerged from Bro.Roderick, the more people were inspired. The music even helped some to make the decision to change their lives for the better, the very reason and purpose of the music composed. Bro. Roderick was then booked for more showcases at his home church (Contender For The Faith). Bro. Roderick is a very head-strong individual, and will not stop at nothing to make sure the vision he was given has come to pass...

Bro. Roderick Speaks;
I believe I am an emerging artist because I can color a picture with the paintbrush of my words. An artist works on the imagination as well as reality. My artistic abilities apply to any position in entertainment, are steadfast in all measures and consistent with the desires of my dreams. With a determined mind and a focus ahead, my will moves like a locomotive towards accomplishing anything I envision... I believe that I have what other people have been waiting to hear, a fresh face with fresh words.

 I've been in the spoken word poetry genre for sixteen years plus and have many accomplishments during that time. I've performed in talent shows, personal party events, street hip-hop battles, and church pulpits, and now I've graduated to hip-hop showcases with actual corporations. Having developed my musical and poetic gifts, talents, and skills has brought forth the uniqueness to diverse and universal.

 "Confessions: Words of Encouragement" in a way that will foresee the effect that this ministry will have on the dying communities in need of some encouraging words in these desolate times. Touching the hearts and souls of these communities with the help of this program will take this ministry to a higher level; a blessing with great honor. As an artist, it will benefit my growth towards success by congregating with other spoken word poets whom of which share the same passion that I do and have an abundance of diverse talents and gifts.


About My Ministry:

This Ministry is a Christ-centered organization that deals with family crisis, community outreach, and encourages individuals internally. Now more than ever communities lack Empowerment; Messianic- driven confidence that will aid with the mental state of those suffering in the recession. We feel that by divine appointment in the midst of the havoc, that this Ministry will revive those who have a dimmed perception on Christianity, and teach those who know nothing about Christianity how to conduct a persevering life as it is needed in times like these. It is one that is not commonly practiced very much in Churches today. Confessing all that is current with you including your struggles to anyone and everyone can open up doors for critisism, judgement, miscalculation, gossip, and ultimately persecution. Where most run from these challenges, this organization is willing to endure those very hardships to save souls. This Ministry has some of the best values, as it focuses on various groups of christian artists. Spoken Word is a very popular and growing genre, and it is becoming apart of the Christian hip-hop world. This ministry has all the chemistry it needs, and all the formulas of a successful business. We are here to deliver the word of God to people who thirst for it's living water.
